When Stacey and Robert told me of their plans for their Calistoga Ranch wedding, they described it like this - if they're going to be at 'The Ranch', they're going to use ALL of the many unique spaces it has to offer. If you've been to Calistoga Ranch, you might know what I'm talking about, but if not - let me explain. Truly, Calistoga Ranch is like none other. A former campground converted to a 5-star, luxury resort, if sprawls into a rugged, canyon cut into the east-Napa Valley hillside, smothered in oak and meadows, vineyards, wine caves and even a lake. Getting from one spot to another involves, necessarily, a ride on a golf-cart because to walk would take a while. When a couple has their wedding here, they can choose from a number of spots for the ceremony, for their reception, their dinner, and for their dancing too. Stacey and Robert said 'let's use the place!', started from the bottom and worked their way up. A ceremony held at the pool, looking out onto the ranch's vineyards. A cocktail reception and dinner at the lawn next to the lovely mountain lake. Partying and dancing in the wine caves. A first look in the poplar trees. Portraits on the bridge and the vineyards. And of course a multi-night stay in possibly the nicest suite the Ranch has to offer. Well done, you two! And of course, much happiness to a beautiful couple. And by the way, Stacey - I'm SO impressed you danced the polka with your grandma, too. :-) Congratulations!
